growing up in chandler arizona, levi had just one mission: get out of this city. he dreamed of a world much bigger that was much bigger and where he was much more important than he could ever be in a mid sized arizona suburb. he lacked the ability to sing or to play sports well enough to make a living at it. however, he was naturally charming so he hoped that acting would be his way out of the city.

it was once he finished college that levi had amassed enough money to make his way to los angeles for the summer. it's not that he had set a time limit on himself, but that the amount of money he had would only last that long. unless he found a way to get himself work then he would be back in chandler and a guidance counselor in some high school. it was towards the end of this four month los angeles test run that he found himself at an audition for a television show called freaks and geeks.

filled with too much bravado, or too much desperation, he absolutely bombed the audition. he came across far too jock than freak and though they were polite enough in the audition, levi knew it was a sinking ship he found himself on. so he begged, and he groveled, and it was the second time he auditioned that he landed the role of the complicated daniel desario.

though freaks and geeks only lasted one season it was enough to get his foot in the door in hollywood. the teen hearthrob role was never quite his strong suit but he graced the covers of teen magazines for a few years and then in gossip magazines a couple years later. he wasn't shy about his affection for women and alcohol and both at the same time. his relationship expoits were messy and constantly in the paperes, but levi didn't really notice or care if that was becoming a problem. the one thing he has ever hidden from the press is the child he has with his current costar, it is also the one thing that could maybe force him to grow up a bit.

it was this near miss that started a panic within levi that has yet to truly quell. he made sure that every year he had a project or two as he never quite forgot the feeling of almost having to leave california. it was after about a decade in the industry that levi began to focus his energy on being behind the camera instead of in front. it started as a vanity project, a way to be able to explore the world of old hollywood and the books that he had read in college but more than anything else it offered him a control that no other position could. unable to quit acting entirely, levi returned home to television between films to keep that light alive.
